Our shop
A funky, unique boutique florist in the middle of Newtown, making modern and individual designs for whatever the day calls for.

We have been on King Street since 2010, across the road from the Dendy. Wayne opened The Flower Room with a simple idea: good flowers, picked fresh, made by hand, for the people who live and work around Newtown. We are still here, and still doing exactly that.
Picked at the market, made the same morning.
Most mornings start early at the Sydney flower market. We bring back whatever is looking its best that day and build it by hand back at the shop. Pastel roses sit next to paper daisies and flannel flowers, big bulbous chrysanthemums, orchids, and a few plants that ask for very little. The seasons decide what is on the bench, so no two weeks look quite the same.
For every reason you send flowers.
We have tied bouquets for birthdays and apologies, built arbours and arrangements for weddings, dressed offices and shopfronts, and made the quiet, careful flowers that say sorry for your loss. Some of our regulars have been ordering for years. Others find us from Adelaide or Scotland and trust us to get it right for someone they love in Sydney.
Pop in at 282 King Street, or send something across the Inner West. Real people make your flowers, and if something is not right we would rather hear about it and fix it the same day.

Made by hand, every morning
A bit of what we make.
Hand-tied bouquets, big statement arrangements, natives, the lot. Here’s a taste.

The faces behind the flowers.
A small, multi-talented Newtown crew who pick at dawn, tie by hand, and remember your usual order. We take the time to get it right. Pop in and say hello, we’re the ones covered in stems.
